Situation
Heathwood Hall Episcopal School is a leading independent K-12 school in Columbia, celebrated for its exceptional academic and athletic opportunities.
When people came to visit the campus in-person, they almost always applied. Our goal was to make the website such a vibrant representation of the Heathwood Experience that it would make parents eager to book an in-person tour.
High school athletics is a huge draw for students hoping to get college scholarships. Heathwood has a comprehensive, well-credentialed athletics program, but their branding was totally disconnected from the school’s. We created a new athletics brand and a set of brand guidelines that better connects the different elements of the school.

Bringing the Heathwood Experience to Life
The website serves as a marketing tool for the school, so it needed to be easy to navigate and focused on an audience that is unfamiliar with Heathwood traditions and institutions. On the other hand, parents and students are everyday users of the site, and they look for practical wayfinding to daily tasks. To solve this problem, we created a Parent Portal for everything parents need to do and find online, including events, printable items like the academic calendar, and links to third-party platforms.
In line with our goal to “show AND tell,” we recommended some visual updates. Heathwood had excellent videos, but they were hidden away in a video library. We redistributed these throughout the site, making it much more likely that the intended audiences will see them. Another focus was on one of Heathwood’s unique differentiators—they have pre-K to 12th grade on one campus. By showing all ages together, we emphasize the unique opportunity that students have to grow in community at Heathwood.

The new website creates a user-friendly experience for all audiences—letting prospective students get a vivid sense of campus life while keeping practical information accessible for parents and alumni.
The brand refresh was a huge success. Now, the athletics logo echoes the school's brand identity, ensuring coherence across touchpoints. The client's goal was to make Heathwood a destination for student athletes, and the new brand provides a clean, professional, and modern look that will help them recruit top talent.
With the boost of a new brand, more people are hearing about what Heathwood has to offer, and the school has maxed out on enrollment.
